Treating Minimally Conscious or Vegetative Patients

Researchers are searching for medications and other therapies to restore consciousness to minimally conscious and vegetative patients whose brains are still salvageable. It would be interesting to combine many or even all of these treatments to find if they have an effect on minimally conscious patients. Research on neurogenesis may lead to even more effective methods of restoring brain function to vegetative patients.
